Officers from the U.S. Capitol Police Officers have live surveillance cameras of the Pelosi’s San Francisco mansion, but on the night that David DePape allegedly attacked Paul Pelosi, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s husband, they weren’t watching it, according to sources.
Officers were monitoring the cameras around the capitol complex, but have feeds for other areas away from the capitol, which include the Pelosi residence.
Sources told Fox News that an officer was monitoring the feeds and saw police lights on a dark street outside the Pelosi’s residence. When the officer began looking through surveillance feeds, the officer saw the alleged attack on Oct. 28, when DePape allegedly struck Paul Pelosi with a hammer, according to the source.
Nancy Pelosi’s security detail weren’t at the residence when the attack occurred, as the House Speaker wasn’t in San Francisco.
Sources say that Capitol Police pay less attention to security cameras when one of its protectees is away. Had the officers been observing the feed, they would have seen DePape break into the building, and may have prevented the incident.
