A fellow LIBERTY LOVER and knowledgeable Ron Paul supporter from Wisconsin sent this editorial to his paper there ahead of their April primary......I feel it is a great one to share with everyone......please pass this on.....
Letter: America needs Ron Paul for president
EDITOR: Most Republicans like Dr. Ron Paul's consistency, integrity and bold fiscal policy, but say his "isolationism" is a deal-breaker.
Paul believes in free travel, free trade and diplomacy. That's hardly isolationism; it's non-interventionism -- the foreign policy advocated by our Founding Fathers. By breaking from that policy in the last decade and engaging in undeclared wars, the United States has spent more than $1.2 trillion and 6,000 men and women have lost their lives.
These military actions don't make us more safe -- they makes us less safe. Ronald Reagan wrote that after the bombing in Beirut, he said he wouldn't "turn tail and leave," but the irrationality of Middle Eastern politics forced him to rethink his policy. "If that policy had changed towards more of a neutral position," he wrote, "those 241 marines would be alive today."
Numerous foreign policy experts including General Douglas Macgregor, terrorism expert Robert Pape and CIA agent Michael Scheuer endorse Ron Paul's foreign policy. It is based on non-interventionism and the prevention of blowback -- a major contributor to global terrorism, as confirmed by the Department of Defense, the 9/11 commission and the CIA.
For the security of America and the world, we need the Paul Doctrine: If military action is necessary, follow the dictates of the Constitution -- either issue letters of Marque and Reprisal or declare war through Congress. This April 3, please vote for Ron Paul, an Air Force veteran, a doctor and the champion of freedom and peace.
