Interplanetary shock wave hit Earth's magnetic field - geomagnetic storm in progress

An interplanetary shock wave from yesterday's CME hit Earth's geomagnetic field at 20:23 UTC today. At the time, Boulder station measured magnetic field Bz component deviation of 62 nT. A G1 (minor) geomagnetic storm is currently underway. High latitude sky watchers should be alert for auroras.
Area of impact is primarily poleward of 60 degrees Geomagnetic Latitude, weak power grid fluctuations can occur, minor impact on satellite operations are possible.
Aurora may be visible at high latitudes.
