Would someone please explain to me why this family, who has no power or authority, has such privacy protections while the People are spied on in every areas of their lives? There is probably a way to do this on a PC, but do you know how to activate text to speech on a Mac? I’m running the latest version of the Mountain Lion (OSX 10.8.5), and here is how I work it on my computer: Go to System Preferences/Dictation & Speech. On the Text to Speech tab, choose the System Voice and speaking rate that please you. Check off “Speak selected text when they key is pressed”. The “key” referred to is probably already set to Option + Esc keys. That means press and hold the Option (located two keys away from the space bar) and press the Esc key (located on the upper left-hand corner of your keyboard. Now highlight whatever text you want your computer to read to you. Press and hold Option + Esc. Your computer should now speak aloud the text you have highlighted. To stop the speaking, press and hold Option + Esc again. Older versions of the OS might have just a dictation tab. Play around in this option to find a choice that will appear to be dictation related. Why might you want to use this free built-in feature: You can highlight text, then activate the dictation by pressing and holding Option + Esc, and you’re computer will start reading your highlighted text to you. I do this when I want to read something but also need to do something else, like fold the laundry.
If you spend a lot of time on your computer, especially at night, and you have challenges in sleeping through the night, it could be that the blue light from your computer is interrupting your brain’s melatonin production.
