An anonymous man in Birmingham, England wanted to help feed the homeless, but quickly realized he needed to look like a hero in order to encourage others to be everyday heroes. So now, he dresses as Spiderman!
The 20-year-old bartender chooses to remain anonymous and is known simply by the neighbourhood as the “Birmingham Spider-Man.” He has been doing volunteer work for several years already but his nightly crusade started just a month ago.
A couple of times a week, at night, he will go out and buy sandwiches, then distribute the food to homeless people. The Birmingham Spider-Man explains that he does this because everybody goes through ups and downs in life, and those who are going through rough times need a little extra help and care.
“I’ve learned that everyone is the same, we’re all part of the human experience and I believe that we need to look at everyone as humans and help each other the same as we would a close friend,” he said.
