Reducing Drama
Ever notice how certain people you run across leave nothing but drama? Everything in life is always wrong, other people are always out to get them, molehills are always mountains, etc., etc.!!! Hanging out with drama queens can feel like being on a never-ending hamster wheel. You keep working harder and harder to help them and get absolutely nowhere. There are steps you can take to minimize the energy they steal from you (and, yes, they are energy vampires)!!!
It is possible to reduce the drama that comes into your life. You will feel much more grounded and able to meet your own challenges when you can consistently maintain your own higher vibration in the midst of the storm. The storm always passes. Use the storms to gain strength and become an even better you!!!

- Cut ties with all those who are not integral parts of your life! If it is not a close friend or family member or someone you have to work with at your job, don’t give them time. Yes, sometimes you want to help them but it can be a losing battle if they like the drama (and don’t really want the help). Ask your heart if you have the ability to help them or if they are just trying to suck you in to feed off your energy. Your heart will tell you. Even when I cut someone loose, I send them off with love, asking the Universe for blessings to follow them.
- Learn when to engage and when not to engage. Some of us can be codependent on the drama–we just don’t know what life would be like without the drama and so we encourage it by “trying to help”. The fact of the matter is, the only person who can decide to stop the drama is the person creating it. If you allow them to solve their own problems, they are more likely to understand they are truly the ones with the power and only they have the power to change their circumstances.
- Even when it feels as though you are in the middle of someone else’s storm, you have the ability to take care of yourself. When something feels too difficult, your body/intuition is trying to tell you to take a step back. Listen to it!!! Meditate, drink a glass of water, take a few deep breaths. Ask for the protection of your guardian angels or envision a protective light around yourself to keep you safe and your energy intact.
- Also know you can call on divine, energetic help for the person and the situation they are involved in. Ask for their guardian angels to step in or envision a healing, protective light around the person and the situation. Understand that even if it is not your problem to solve, it is in your power to call on divine help and guidance. Place that burden on Oneness, where it belongs.
