Egyptian Crystal Magic: Healing with Lapis Lazuli, Turquoise and Carnelia
The Egyptians, like almost every ancient civilization, worked closely with the power of the mineral realm for connection to cosmic wisdom, physical healing and elixirs, to increase visionary states, for the production of protective talismans, and in the riches of rulers and high-ranking people in society.
In particular, Lapis Lazuli, Turquoise, and Carnelian, are three stones known to have been extensively used by the Egyptians for healing, intuitive power, and set in jewelry- especially gold. Find out why this trio was so beloved by the Egyptians:
Lapis Lazuli- Lapis is a gorgeous royal blue stone intermixed with marbled pyrite, and as its royal blue hue indicates, it has been known as a stone of royalty since ancient times. It has been said that Lapis Lazuli was used to line the inside of the Pharaohs crowns as the stone was believed to connect the mind to wisdom and thus assist the ruler in making wise and guided decisions for the people. Lapis Lazuli is a stone of Isis- a female deity or goddess associated with wisdom and magic, among other traits.
Additionally, Lapis Lazuli is an excellent stone for healing and empowering the throat chakra, especially when set in gold and worn around the throat. The stone can be placed on the third eye for pineal and third eye resonance activation as well as simply being held. Working with a Lapis to manifest the dreams into reality is powerful, so be sure you are clear of intention when doing so. Lapis is also a powerful stone to be used by writers and speakers.
Turquoise- Turquoise, also in the blue family, has been used widely by many ancient cultures and its use and power continue through to the present. For the Egyptians, turquoise was connected to the deity/goddess Hathor, a being who oversaw motherhood, music, and fertility. Turquoise is reported to have been discovered in Egypt over 7,000 years ago.
As with Lapis Lazuli, turquoise resonates with the aspects of speech and wisdom, helping one to use their speech in a balance of wisdom and empathy. It can also be worn on or near the throat for balancing of the 5th chakra, improvement of creativity, speech, and communication, and to enhance the power of spoken meditations, affirmations, chants or mantras. Turquoise helps to bestow peace and balance to the wearer as it is a soothing stone.
Carnelian- Carnelian is a stone more strongly resonating with the physical tissues and the physical body chakras- root, sacral and solar plexus, and is an excellent stone to use for strengthening, purifying, or vitalizing the blood. It can also be used to help the body absorb more nutrients through the blood.
According to quantumstones.com, “a stone of redemption, triumph and strength, Carnelian was revered by ancient Egyptians. Carnelian was associated with key symbols of power and protection in ancient Egyptian culture, including the right eye of Horus, the setting sun (and Sun god Ra), and Isis, who wore a Carnelian amulet called a Thet that bestowed protection upon the dead. Carnelian was used to overcome the impossible.”
During mediation, carnelian stones can be placed on the root or sacral chakra to help the body heal faster, to detoxify anger, and to strengthen the lower back and pelvic area.
