LiR_ I think Libor has to do with how some rates are derived or figured out... I believe each letter stands for something, but not sure what.

That's as much as I'm able to offer.. perhaps another can be more specific and helpful ...

dont know the exact lettering but.... London intra bank o ? rate or something of that nature.... it is the rate of borrowing that banks pay to use the funds for overnight trading... but much more involved than what I can remember,,,,

Thanks all. Just after this article came out, BBC World News came out with more on the Banking Fraud thing & kinda said the same as all you. So there we have it.

Has to do with the rates on borrowed funds & the fact that they have been fixing the rates. Along those lines anyways.
