Folks,
Anyone purchasing a new automobile should ask the dealer for the 'Certificate of Origin'.. The dealer will ask you to sign it and they will send it in to the motor vehicle dept. This gives them the 1% ownership they need to steal your vehicle in a traffic stop. DO NOT GIVE THIS TO THEM. There is no law that requires you to do so. If they insist, ask for the printed law that requires you to do so...No such law exists. Take the Certificate home with you. If you chose to register your automobile, show it to them, do not let them make a copy....Now, you and you alone own your automobile.....well unless you got a loan,,,then of course, its liened....
