Asteroid 2016 VA is set to pass by Earth at a distance of 0.2 LD (58,500 mi). The space rock was discovered just one day before (Nov. 1st).
Its estimated diameter is 10 to 21 meters.
2016 VA has a Condition code of 7.
The number of discovered near-Earth asteroids (NEAs) now tops 15,000, with an average of 30 new discoveries added each week.
It is estimated by astronomers that only about 27 percent of the NEAs that are 460 feet (140 meters) and larger have been found to date.
