The history of the usage of violets is as rich as its color, beauty and grace. The symbolic language of the violet flower throughout history was a way of sending a message of loyalty, devotion, faithfulness, humility, simplicity, and I return love. Flowers have also been used as a tea, cake decorations, and in salads. The beautiful heart shaped leaves have been used in various different ways, such as in salads, spring tonics, herbal salves and balms. On a more spiritual side, the blue violet color of the blossoms is a very intuitive color. Dried leaves were blended with sea salt and used as a protective barrier from evil, thus creating a blue light if any evil should attempt to cross that line.
