Reports indicate that the vaccines used had expired and that at least one hundred children were sick for months as a result, with fever, skin rashes, cold, and vomiting.
Parents are understandably upset by the news. Can you imagine your child vomiting for months?
The tainted vaccines were used in a health facility for at least ten years. This threatened the well-being of at least 21-thousand children. In response, the Chinese government banned media reports and called in riot police to deal with protestors demanding answers.
Hundreds of parents staged a protest in front of a public building and in the streets in Jinhu, China demanding answers about vaccines used on their children. The standoff led to some physical violence according to Asianews, (footage below).
An investigation has revealed that an entire batch of expired polio vaccines was used instead of destroyed. As a result, 17 officials have reportedly been fired.
A County propaganda official, Zhou Guangfeng, told media that this was due to “management confusion, job negligence, and regulatory failure”.
Many parents noted that their children in the past had suffered from the same symptoms as those experienced by the afflicted children today.
Some parents stormed the hospital, demanding that all the clinical files concerning the vaccinations be doublechecked.
In response, Chinese authorities banned regular and social media from spreading “inflammatory” news about vaccines.

China is not new to this kind of scandal. Last July it was revealed that hundreds of thousands of children had received an ineffective vaccine that contained little of the active ingredient. In total, over 250,000 DPT (Diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus) vaccines were made by Changchun Changsheng Bio-technology, a major vaccine manufacturer.
