Please subscribe now at https://bit.ly/2DwW4BZ Earlier this week, Live Science announced the discovery of hundreds of stone structures in the Western Sahara, dating back to between 10,000 and 3,000 years ago. The study area is a 3.5 square mile plot of land that is relatively untouched by archaeologists, but a new booked titled “The Archaeology of Western Sahara: A Synthesis of Fieldwork, 2002 to 2009” sheds new light on this unknown world. Between the dates mentioned in the title of the paper, archaeologists conducted a series of field surveys, small-scale excavations, as well as analysing satellite images on Google Earth and they discovered more than 400 ancient stone monuments.
