High School Cross-Country Team Take Rescue Dogs On Their Morning Run
By Claire Robinson
From what was going to be an ordinary day in at the shelter for most dogs, this day proved to be quite the opposite. The day started with a dozen or more rescue dogs from the Santa Barbara County Animal Shelter, were picked up from and teamed up with designated member’s of the Cross-Country team from St. Joseph High School in California.
These pups were in for such a treat – a morning mile routine run.
The team’s coach Luis Escobar wrote on Facebook, “I am not sure who was more excited and having the most fun, the dogs or the kids, either way, it was a great time, and I am sure we will do it again sometime soon.”
What an exciting fun day for the dogs and kids alike. Definitely, a day to remember. The Cross-Country team were so delighted running with the dogs, one big happy team, a heartwarming sight to see.
Think the excitement and the run was just too much for Little Fred who was never made it to the finish, though he had certainly enjoyed himself, he is going to have a good night’s rest.
