New York Court of Appeals Moves to Unseal Jeffrey Epstein Case
The Miami Herald reported on Monday that a federal court of appeals in New York took the first step in unsealing documents that could reveal evidence of an international child sex trafficking operation involving hundreds of girls, allegedly run by billionaire Jeffrey Epstein and his former partner, Ghislaine Maxwell.
For crimes that could have easily landed Epstein in prison for the rest of his life, he served only 13 months of nighttime confinement in a private wing at the Palm Beach County Jail and was chauffeured to and from work. This outrageous and unprecedented deal made in 2008 granted him and his countless accessories total immunity from prosecution.
The non-prosecution agreement was brokered by then-Miami US Attorney Alexander Acosta, who is now President Trump’s labor secretary and who has said that the deal was approved at the highest levels of the Department of Justice. On February 22, this arrangement was finally ruled illegal.
Ironically, one of the main forces behind the unsealing is celebrity lawyer, Alan Dershowitz, who was Epstein’s defense attorney in this case in 2006. He has been accused of statutory rape by the primary witness and he wants to clear his name. Her attorneys, however maintain that the records release will incriminate him.
In addition to the New York Appeals Court, Trump’s new US Attorney General, William Barr has pledged to look into the handling of this case.
This clip features Virginia Roberts, one of Epstein’s primary victims, who was prostituted to him and his cronies starting at the age of 16. Her brief, shocking statements here put most of the #MeToo movement to shame.
