Coal mining, transporting and using for power are dinosaurs, they need to go extinct. Coal power, coal releases huge amounts of mercury into the air, water, soil that causes brain damage in all things with a brain. I remember watching a nesting pair of bald eagles at a lake here in Nevada. The couple could not get any living babies out of the nest of eggs. The adults were eating the fish from the lake that had high mercury levels and made the shells on the eggs weak and they would break before the hatching. If any of the baby eagles did hatch the parents were feeding it the contaminated fish which eventually killed it. Year after year the eagle couple would try and fail. I was living in Austin Texas in 2007, it was a period where Texas was trying to fast track 18 coal plants across the state. The statistics that they were hiding were that at that time 1 in 150 boys were labeled autistic, the coal plants would raise that to 1 in 52. It was the first time I have ever protested along with 15,000 other people. We got the state mass wind power instead of coal and the cost was less than half of what it would be with the coal plants. Good memories during the 6 months in Austin, where I learned who to fight and it was going to pay off when I became citizen lobbier in Nevada come 2009.
