A Food and Drug Administration advisory group on Thursday endorsed the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine for emergency usage, which is expected to lead to final agency approval as early as Friday..
The group of outside experts on infectious disease voted 20-0 with one person abstaining in recommending the treatment as effective in preventing the virus in humans, according to Fox Business.
The FDA last week approved the first coronavirus vaccine in the U.S. for emergency use. Americans started receiving shots of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine Monday.
