New TV series to reveal Project Blue Book files

A new UFO investigation series will include an exclusive look at scientist Dr. J. Allen Hynek's unreleased files.
Carried out by the US Air Force between 1952 and 1969, Project Blue Book was an in-depth study of unidentified flying objects - the largest of its kind ever undertaken.
It had two main goals - to determine if UFOs were a threat and to scientifically analyze the data.
By the time the project had ended, it had collected an archive of some 12,618 UFO reports. While most of these were deemed to have conventional explanations, a small percentage of the sightings remained 'unexplained' even after being subjected to stringent analysis.
Officially, it was concluded that none of the UFO sightings investigated by the Air Force posed a risk to the United States and nor did they represent evidence of alien visitors or advanced technology.
Not everyone however is convinced that things were quite that straight forward.
Now a new TV series - UFO Witness - will delve into the mysteries of Project Blue Book thanks to a collaboration with former investigator Jennie Zeidman.
"Zeidman was the last surviving member of the Air Force's top-secret UFO investigation called Project Blue Book, which looked into sightings from 1952 through 1970," the press release reads.
"She has broken her silence, speaking publicly for the first time about her decades of research - motivated to share her expertise because she believes we've been visited by UFOs before - and fears Earth is under extraterrestrial surveillance."
"Sadly, Zeidman passed away in April 2020, but she has given Discovery+ exclusive access to the files from the chief scientific consultant of Project Blue Book, Dr. Allen J. Hynek, to help continue his investigations."
UFO witness will be available to stream from January 14th on Discovery+.
