A mysterious animal that resembles some sort of dog or coyote has been discovered in the west of the state.
The enigma first presented itself earlier this week when resident Christina Eyth noticed an animal outside her home that appeared to be lost and was shivering from the cold weather.
Her first thought was that it was her neighbor's dog, however on closer inspection the animal looked somewhat unusual, so she decided to call wildlife experts for a second opinion.
When they examined the animal they were unable to tell what it was either.
It wasn't long before the mystery had ended up on the local TV news.
"I honestly cant definitively say what it is, but to air on the side of caution since they can carry rabies and since it might be a coyote, we can keep it here, get genetic testing done and go from there," said wildlife rehabilitator Morgan Barron.
It could be some time, however, before the results of the testing are known.
