In California, an Assembly Bill is being reviewed that would classify disagreement with the “contemporary scientific consensus” on COVID-19 issues as “unprofessional conduct” for California doctors.
The proposed bill was co-written by five California Assembly and Senate members. It was introduced to the Assembly Committee on Business and Professions last week by Democratic Assemblyman Evan Low, and might be reviewed during a hearing on March 17 by the Assembly Committee.
This bill proposes that doctors’ statements about COVID be subject to review by the Medical Board of California and the Osteopathic Medical Board of California, particularly if they don’t follow the guidelines of the Liberal agenda.
“Existing law requires the applicable board to take action against any licensed physician and surgeon who is charged with unprofessional conduct, as provided,” explains the bill.
One of the main points of the assembly bill is that it “shall constitute unprofessional conduct for a physician and surgeon to disseminate or promote misinformation or disinformation related to COVID-19, including false or misleading information regarding the nature and risks of the virus, its prevention and treatment; and the development, safety, and effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines.”
The bill is meant to quell any dissent from the left’s rhetoric on COVID and to prevent medical professionals from treating their patients as they see fit. This bill also contradicts the central idea of the scientific process which is to share and debate ideas to reach the most accurate conclusions.
One Los Angeles psychiatrist, Mark McDonald, said he would sue the state if it attempted to punish him for his views on COVID. McDonald said, “I think when you stand up and you don’t give an inch, in most cases, the bullies are actually cowards, and they will collapse.”

According to Just the News, several state medical boards are already investigating doctors for their claims about COVID, especially around treatments such as ivermectin that are alternatives to the vaccine.
