Rising Upwards…

For quite a while now we have been thinking about and talking about
raising our consciousness to match the new world we are now living in.
That is all well and good, but we seem to be overlooking something else
we need to consider raising. Our standards and values. They are at an
all time low right now, beaten down by television shows with little or
no morality, overflowing with violence and hatred, no moral messages of
hope or concern for the welfare of mankind. We seem to respect no one.
With no values of our own how can we possibly value anybody or anything
else? It began with the never-ending killing and eating of animals as if
they had no value in life. Now we were killing the very planet on which
we all live, showing it no respect, not caring if it dies and then we
found ourselves killing each other because we had no value for their
life as well. This kind of behavior has got to stop before we destroy
ourselves!
It is no wonder what is going on in the world is going on, we respect
nothing, nothing has value or meaning, nothing has a right to simply be
in the world anymore. Because our values are so low, in many ways we
are allowing what is taking place to take place. Our regard for life is
so non-existent we invite in the dregs of the earth and allow them to
destroy everything we ever cared about. It is time to raise our values
and standards back up and regain some pride in ourselves. The more pride
we feel and the higher our values the less likely we are to allow this
degradation of life to continue all around us. It is time to take note
of where we are failing and falling short and do something about it! It
is time to be honest with ourselves, bury our egos and begin interacting
with life as if it meant something again.
Here’s a test for you. Spend one evening paying CLOSE attention to
the advertisements on your television rather than changing the channel.
Watch them, listen to them. Open your mind and your eyes and view them
from a whole new wide awake perspective. You will see how childish and
degrading to your intelligence they are. You will see corporations
brainwashing you and urging you to buy their products. You will be
repeatedly told over and over again that you are overweight yet food
will be shoved down your throats to buy, you will be told you are
depressed and what medication to take, you will brainwashed into getting
a flu shot. Pay close attention to how stupid and ridiculous the ads
are, they are geared for children because you are not worthy of anything
more sophisticated. Is this acceptable to you? Just about every ad you
see is telling you that there is something wrong with you, you are
defective and the manner in which you are told is embarrassingly dumb.
If you take time to REALLY watch and listen I think you will be shocked
at the messages.
It is time to stand up and demand better for ourselves and for
humanity. It is time to speak out and say NO, we will not take this
anymore. It is time to rebuild a world of values and standards that show
respect for one another and supports one another in becoming more,
becoming better, not allowing ourselves to be told we are less. We are
more, we are better, realize that and don’t forget it again. If we don’t
raise our values and standards higher, there is no way out of the hole
we are in. Be proud of who you are and demand better from your new
world!
