The retired NASA astronaut is certainly no stranger to outer space having spent a staggering 8,100 consecutive hours there.
Astronauts and UFO stories often go hand-in-hand; several famous faces - including Apollo astronauts Ed Mitchell and Buzz Aldrin - have reported sightings of strange objects during their careers.
One particularly unique example comes courtesy of Scott Kelly - a retired NASA astronaut who appeared as a member of the panel during NASA's public hearing on UFOs last week.
Despite breaking the world record for the most amount of consecutive days spent in space back in 2016, his own encounter with the unexplained happened during a flight back on Earth.
At the time, his radar intercept officer (RIO) had picked up what he thought was a UFO.
"I remember one time I was flying in the warning areas off of Virginia Beach military operating area and my RIO — the guy who sits in the back of the Tomcat — was convinced we flew by a UFO," he said.
"So I didn't see it. We turned around. We went to go look at it."
"It turns out it was Bart Simpson — a balloon."
