For most of my life, I have been very lucky. My Dutch friends were convinced that I had a horseshoe up my tuchus.
When I was in my thirties, I decided to be a biker, complete with a Harley Davidson. The only thing standing between this idea and making it real was the many thousands of dollars such a bike would cost me.
I strongly visualized having this bike and saw myself motoring around, as in showing off.
Here is where luck entered the picture.
My wife subscribed to a craft magazine and without thinking, I picked it up. In the back were small classified ads, posted by people looking for collectibles and parts.
And since these classified ads were free, I decided what the heck, I got nothing to lose. In my ad, I said that I was looking for Harley Davidson parts.
A week later I received a phone call from a lady and she said; "we just bought this house and in the garage is a pile of motorcycle parts, some say Harley Davidson on them. Would you be interested ? We just want to clean up...."
I rushed right over and it looked like sh_t, the parts were hand painted in all colors of the rainbow. But it also looked like it was all there.
I asked how much she expected to get and she responded' "would $140 be too much ?"
And I said, that this would be totally fine.
Well, we struck a deal. I loaded it all up and went home.
I had just purchased a 1942 Harley, totally complete. The only thing missing was the tail light. And the engine was brand-new !
I repainted and assembled the bike and toured all around Europe.
I sold it when we moved to Canada and got $6,500 for it, which paid for our move.
I'm a firm believer that our "Heavenly Helpers" always have our best interest in mind and all we have to do is ASK and have no doubt that it will happen.
Free will ?
I rather let "the Universe" guide me.
