A metallic monolith previously discovered in Red Rock Country of rural Utah reappeared on top of Atascadero's Pine Mountain in California after it disappeared from its previous location, Wednesday. There's no confirmation if this is the exact same monolith that had been installed in Utah. According to reports, the California monolith was not firmly attached to the ground, unlike Utah's. On November 24, a group of officers from the Utah Department of Public Safety investigated a metallic monolith in Red Rock Country of rural Utah, which resembles a similar structure from Stanley Kubrick's 1968 sci-fi classic '2001: A Space Odyssey'. The shiny monolith was discovered by the group of Public Safety Department on November 18, when they accidentally noticed it from the sky, while inspecting the area from a helicopter. The monolith was around three metres (10 feet) tall and had a rectangular shape. As reported, the officers said that the object was firmly attached to the ground and seems like it had been brought there and strongly attached to the rock intentionally. They also said that the spot where it had been found is very difficult both to find and to approach, even by helicopter. The origin or the reason why the monolith had been placed there, or who brought it and grounded it among the rocks is still unknown and to be investigated. In other words, its origins and purpose are still a total mystery.
