On September 8, Texas mom Renee Greer went to wake up her daughter, Kayla Rose Lumpkins and found that she had passed away sometime during the night. Greer is trying to make sense of the tragedy and searching for answers and justice following her daughter’s sudden death.


18-year-old Kayla Rose Lumpkins kept a busy schedule and, according to her mom, showed no signs of illness until after she received her covid booster.
“She had two [vaccines]. Then she had a third one for good measure 7 months before [September 8th]. I’m telling you all, she was healthy. With her crazy schedule; choir, theater, drill team, morning practices, rehearsals, football game halftime performances, plays, concerts, excelling in her honor dual credit classes, and everything else she did there was no way she was sick. If she was, she wouldn’t have been able to do that. Still waiting to find out something,” she said.

Zuri Craig Suddenly Dies: Tyler Perry Collaborator, ‘America’s Got Talent Finalist Was 44

Zuri Craig, who once was a finalist on the reality show America’s Got Talent as part of the Craig Lewis band, has died. He was 44 and no cause was given by his family, who confirmed he died on Friday and issued a tribute post on his website.


“It is with profound sadness that we announce the transition of our beloved son, brother, and friend, Zuri Craig. We thank you in advance for your prayers. Please honor our privacy at this unimaginable time of mourning.” They note he died on Friday — a cause of death has yet to be released, but more info seems to be forthcoming.
Craig was a hit on AGT back in 2015, when he and his singing partner, Jeffrey Lewis, delivered powerful versions of songs by James Brown and Mary J. Blige. They finished fifth overall in that year’s competition.
Craig also worked on Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Big Happy Family, Madea Gets a Job, and A Madea Christmas.

Megyn Kelly Mourns Sudden Death of Sister Suzanne at 58

Megyn Kelly's sister, Suzanne Crossley, died on Friday after suffering a heart attack. She was 58. Kelly, 51, shared the news during the opening segment of her podcast on Monday.
"Something really sad happened in my family over the weekend," she shared. "My sister died, she was 58, her name was Suzanne Crossley and she died suddenly on Friday of a heart attack."
Kelly added that her sister had not been in good health over the last couple of years. However, her death was sudden and unexpected. During the segment, the former Today host also shared that she was with her mother, her brother and one of Crossley's sons at the time of her death.
"So, it was very hard," she said. "It was extremely emotional. My poor mom, as all moms and dads know, this is not the order in which this is supposed to happen."

Carter was the country's 25th secretary of Defense

Former Defense Secretary Ash Carter has died, his family announced Tuesday. He was 68.


Carter, who was the country's top military official under President Obama, died Monday of cardiac arrest, according to Fox News Digital. 
He is survived by wife Stephanie and children Ava and Will.
"It is with deep and profound sadness that the family of former Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter shares that Secretary Carter passed away Monday evening in Boston," his family said in a statement. "He was a beloved husband, father, mentor, and friend. His sudden loss will be felt by all who knew him."
Carter was the country's 25th secretary of Defense and director of the Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs at Harvard’s Kennedy School.
