The April Pink Moon 2019 will rise this month in a stunning display of lunar showmanship. For most of human history, the moon was largely a mystery. April's Full Moon is known as the Pink Moon. Unfortunately the moon will not turn a bright pink colour at the end of the month, but the full moon will be spectacular on its own. According to Royal Observatory Greenwich, the April full moon derives its names from a species of pink early blooming wildflower, observed by Northern Native Americans. In the Southern Hemisphere, where it’s autumn, this April full moon counts as the Southern Hemisphere’s Hunter’s Moon.
